MCG Employment Center

The MCG Employment Center is designed to assist unemployed and underemployed adults (18 years and up) who have identifiable barriers to gain the skills and knowledge they need in order to become employed. The program includes one-to-one counseling, direction to employers and job market through coaching. Up to a maximum of 32 weeks of support, training, and career development can be provided after assessment and employment plans are developed with the client.

The following services will be available:

  • Ongoing and Continuous Intake – Call 780-448-1380 for times
  • Employment Preparation and Job Search Skills Workshops

  • Job Club

  • Career Planning

  • Essential Skills Review and Determination

  • Short courses in preparation for work

  • Incidental supports such as work boots; eligibility determined on a case by case basis

  • Job Coaching

  • Outreach services for follow-up

  • Marketing and Linkages to the labour market and employers
